Bio

With over nine years of experience as a tattoo artist, Ruth specialises in fine-line floral designs, micro realism, and abstract work. With a background in graphic design and fine art, Ruth’s approach is grounded in strong composition, subtle detail, and a refined, minimalist aesthetic. Her fine-line tattoos are celebrated for their delicate botanical elements and soft, flowing lines, while her darker, more graphic pieces stand out with bold simplicity and experimental artistry. Drawing inspiration from vintage botanical illustrations, traditional calligraphy, and the rich history of ancient tattooing, Ruth creates work that is both elegant and timeless. Committed to a calm, collaborative process, she ensures every tattoo is crafted with care and designed to complement the natural flow of the body.

Questions & answers

Where are you from? I grew up in the Midlands
How long have you been tattooing? I started as a tattoo apprentice in 2016.
What inspired you to become a tattoo artist? As well as being able to draw all day and make a living from it, I am inspired by the rich ancient history of tattooing. To be able to practise such a longstanding meaningful craft is such an honour.
What is your background? At school I did my GCSE and Level in art 2 years early and then went on to study Graphic Design at Uni. After leaving uni I exhibited as a fine artist in my spare time and worked as a Graphic Designer, eventually running my own business. In my 30s I started getting tattooed and was instantly drawn into the industry. I chose at 36 to completely start again to follow my passion for tattooing and the rest is history.
What style do you specialise in? Botanical, micro realism and abstract.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I love to draw, see live music and watch films.
What’s your favourite kind of tattoo to do? One that is either painted or drawn by hand onto the clients skin, these always create the best flow and work perfectly with the client’s body.
What’s the coolest tattoo you’ve done? I am always super honoured if I get to tattoo someone’s head/face as it is such a visible area.
