Bio

Award-winning tattoo artist Amir Lameyra started his tattoo journey in 2017 in the Philippines. He has been a gifted artist since childhood and began developing his painting and artwork during his teenage years. Amir’s art is everything to him with him even once saying ‘without art, I cannot tell my story’. He loves to combine the real and surreal to create beautiful and unique concepts that fit and flow with the body in both black and grey and colour. ‘Some of the happiest experiences of my life have been as a tattoo artist. I have learnt so much about the value of art and it has helped me to build character and to be more peaceful in this world.’

Questions & answers

Where are you from? I'm from the Philippines, Asia's pearl of the orient.
How long have you been tattooing? I have been tattooing for 7 years now, I started in 2017.
What inspired you to become a tattoo artist? I'm always been into art since my childhood, and that eventually led me into tattooing. I became interested in tattoos when I was 20.
What is your background? I've had commissioned painting projects, drawings and murals. I also worked as a graphic artist. I studied Marine Transportation in my home town.
What style do you specialise in? I specialise in realism tattoos both in black and grey and colour.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I love playing musical instruments and watching movies.
What’s your favourite kind of tattoo to do? I always like to do conceptual tattoos, surrealism and realism that are done either in black and grey or in colour.
What’s the coolest tattoo you’ve done? I love all of them. Each of them reflects value of the client's personality and identity. I personally think that makes it cool.
