Bio

Studying at an arts school in Bulgaria, Cheltenham resident Boris was surrounded by talented artists, and his passion for drawing flourished. It was when he was introduced to tattooing, he decided to focus on this new journey. With a strong drawing foundation, Boris seamlessly transitioned into tattooing. Boris’s love for realism grew during his art school years, and he was determined to incorporate it into his tattoo work. In 2013, a year before graduating, he began his tattooing career, which has continued ever since. Boris spent his initial six years tattooing in Bulgaria and, in 2019, decided to relocate to the UK. Along the way, he made industry friends, attended workshops, secured guest spots, and shared knowledge, humbled by his journey’s enriching encounters. Boris now resides at our Cheltenham studio as one of our resident realism artists.

Questions & answers

Where are you from? I was born and raised in Bulgaria.
How long have you been tattooing? This year (2023) marks ten years since I started tattooing.
What inspired you to become a tattoo artist? I was at the right place at the right time surrounded by creative individuals who pushed me into the pursuit of becoming a tattoo artist.
What is your background? I graduated in iconography in an arts school in Bulgaria, it was an honour to learn from some of the most talented people in my country. After I graduated I went to university to study graphic design but I dropped out to triple down on my strengths and went into tattooing full time.
What style do you specialise in? Black and grey realism and cover ups.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I like long hikes in nature to recharge myself for when I’m back at work.
What’s your favourite kind of tattoo to do? I love doing faces and animals.
What’s the coolest tattoo you’ve done? Hard to say really, I did a lot of cool tattoos over the years, I think all of them are special in a way.
