Where are you from?
I am from Cebu, Philippines.
How long have you been tattooing?
I’ve been tattooing for 11 years now since 2013.
What inspired you to become a tattoo artist?
When I got my first tattoo, I became very interested in the process and thought to myself that I wanted to try tattooing. I knew that I seriously wanted to become a tattoo artist because despite all the challenges, I fought so hard and really stood up for it because tattooing became my passion.
What is your background?
Our financial circumstances were difficult back then and I wasn’t able to graduate high school. Then I started to work at a fast food chain instead to earn money.
What style do you specialise in?
I specialise in realism tattoos, both in black and grey and colour.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to walk outdoors during my spare time. I’m always sitting down while tattooing so it’s a very good exercise. It also relaxes me and helps me better prepare for the work days ahead.
What’s your favourite kind of tattoo to do?
I love tattooing concepts that tell a story. No particular subjects but I just love the story-telling behind a tattoo.
What’s the coolest tattoo you’ve done?
I find a lot of the pieces that I’ve done cool, but one particular tattoo that came to mind was my piece that won Best of Show at the Savage Ink International Tattoo Convention 2019. It was done on both inner forearms and when you put them side by side, they form one piece. I think the thrill and the whole experience added to the coolness of the tattoo.
